BTG Media's podcast, hosted by Ryan Yates with co-host Coach King, is a laid-back talk show about basketball, culture, current events, and insightful life advice to end each episode. I joined the team as the sole set manager, responsible for the entire backstage production.

some shots behind the scenes
During my time with BTG Media, they hosted the podcast in a number of locations. As the set manager, I adapted and set the stage at each location, ensuring that all attendees were comfortable with the seating arrangements.
It was important that the microphones were functional and within reach, the camera settings were matched and set at the right angles, and the lighting was arranged properly to bring out the best imagery on the cameras.
I wouldn't say the equipment at hand was limited; it was quite good for the operation being run. It goes to show that you don't necessarily need top-of-the-range gadgets to get the job done. With enough know-how and an understanding of the desired result, you can produce high-quality content.
This is something I've always understood. For years, I've used less-than-average equipment to produce high-quality art, which was challenging because the equipment I had struggled to keep up with my workload. Editing vlogs for Hoop Mountain Dubai always took longer than necessary because of the high volume of 4K videos my PC had to handle. Editing three reels alone took almost half a day, and there was always the risk of the PC crashing and deleting all my progress, regardless of whether I'd saved it.
Despite all that, I still look back at those days with gratitude because, without those hurdles, I wouldn't be at the level I am today.
